Zemio Trip

April 5, 2013 by mwanienty

Pray that we’d be able to make our trip into CAR this Monday through Thursday. Pray that our meeting with the Zande church leadership would go well. And pray for the people who are scared for their lives with the intimidating new, self-imposed government in CAR.

What’s Next???

Some days the roller coaster goes up and it looks like “its a go” for our team to live in the Central African Republic. Other days, it feels like we might be derailed–like hearing about the successful coup last week by a rebel coalition named “Seleka.” Today I feel like we just passed a cork-screw and I’m dizzy from the confusion.

As you know, our 3-day-trip to CAR has been planned for months. We hope to meet with the Zande Tribe church leadership and discuss the realities of our hopeful team in their area. We hope to gain their advice and strike a feeling unity and common “ownership” of the proposed team. But mixed in with all these plans is the reality that CAR’s new government appears to be heavy on dictatorship and light on human rights. Will they even allow the military forces to continue the search for Joseph Kony and the LRA? Will they grant the necessary flight permissions for our mission to fly into the East of the country? Will we even be able to make our trip in from April 8th to the 11th? Only God knows the answers to these questions which loom large on our murky horizon.

Pray that we’d be able to make our trip into CAR this Monday through Thursday. Pray that our meeting with the Zande church leadership would go well. And pray for the people who are scared for their lives with the intimidating new, self-imposed government in CAR.

Thanks!!!

Foggy Ideas

March 20, 2013 by mwanienty

Entwistle pictureWell, as I look out our window towards the Great Rift Valley here in Kenya I can only see about 20 yards away due to a thick blanket of fog.  Kinda how I feel about this  blog.  This is my first ever attempt, and so far my ego is still intact, though hanging by a thread.  Neither Sharon nor I are known for our technical dexterity, our computer wizardry, nor our blogging savvy.  But recently God has challenged us to be more proactive in recruiting prayer for our upcoming ministry among the Mbororo and Zande tribes in Central African Republic, so here goes……The fog outside is a metaphor for our future, too:  We aren’t sure when, where, nor how, God will open the doors for our ministry to the people of eastern C.A.R.  Just getting into the country to meet with the church leadership has been a major obstacle–there have been Rebel activities threatening to topple the government, there have been attacks by the Lord’s Resistance Army (led by Joseph Kony)….even just getting a visa to fly in has been an enormous obstacle.  Would you pray with us that we’d be granted our application for visa and be able to make this very important trip into C.A.R., April 8th to 11th?  Thanks.

But mostly, we’d ask you to pray for the unreached Mbororo Tribe, and the under discipled Zande Tribe, that they would know and embrace God’s love for them.

As fog impedes our ability to see, so the enemy has blinded many of these people from truly understanding His great love and salvation.  Thanks for praying!!

Wow, now that wasn’t too painful…..

Love from Kenya, Steve, Sharon, Micah, Krista, and Josiah Entwistle
